San Damiano Crucifix
$195.00
The San Damiano Cross spoke to St. Francis of Assisi in a crumbling chapel: "Francis, go and repair my house." It is a beloved icon of the crucified and risen Christ. Made for the garden, it can stand among the flowers or near the front walk as a sign to everyone who visits that this is a Catholic home.
Inspired by Jesus' ultimate act of love, the San Damiano Garden crucifix is a replica of the large Romanesque rood cross before which St. Francis of Assisi was praying when he is said to have received the commission from the Lord to rebuild the Church. This crucifix is a natural stoneresin art sculpture finished in both front and back. The back side is inscribed, “Go, Repair My Church.” Comes packaged in a signature Avalon Gallery™ gift box.
