Words from the author Deidre Porter
I can no longer recount the number of times in my life that someone has told me that life is not fair. In the past, I probably thought and felt the same way. However, I have come to realize that on the contrarylife is extremely fair. I believe we see life as being unfair from our human perspective because life is so brutally honest. In other words, what we may forget is that all actions do have consequences that eventually come to the light. Sometimes our decisions and choices in life may not be in the best interest of our loved ones or us and may cause unresolved hurt or pain. Also, when we falter or make mistakes in life, others seem to readily notice; and the good that we do or have done in the past is sometimes overshadowed. When our worldly thoughts, desires and deeds allow no place for God in our life, it seems as though life has a way of holding us accountable. Ultimately, life has a way of shining light on all darkness thereby revealing the truth.
Fortunately, the true beauty of life is that God in his divine providence gives us the gift of time. He gives us time in our life to make amends. He gives us time to: ask forgiveness for all the times we hurt others even those closest to us; ask forgiveness for all the times we have faltered or made erroneous decisions; ask forgiveness for all the times we did not have room for him in our lives.
It is through the gift of time that we are afforded the opportunity to right all our wrongs. God wants us to turn to him with trust and ask for his mercy and forgiveness. When we are quiet long enough to ask, he will provide us with all that we need according to his will.
