By Rosemary McGuire Berry · Published by TAN Books
Overview
This work presents the saints not as distant paragons but as real people whose unique temperaments shaped their paths to holiness, helping the reader understand how impulsive, reflective, bold, or gentle traits can be conduits of grace. By exploring saints such as St. Paul, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Mary Magdalene according to the four traditional temperaments, the author shows how cooperation with divine grace leads each temperament toward perfection in Christ.
- Explores the four classical temperaments through the lives of saints, showing how personality and holiness intersect.
- Uses vivid biographical anecdotes to illustrate strengths and weaknesses oriented toward virtue.
- Offers reflections and practical insights on how readers can cooperate with grace in their own temperament.
- Focuses each chapter on one saint while incorporating related examples for a richer understanding.
- Encourages self‑knowledge as a path to humility and deeper union with Christ.
