               St. Camillus of Lellis was
diagnosed with an incurable disease, so he decided to minister to others with
incurable diseases, many of whom were treated very poorly.  He raised the level of care for these
unfortunate souls, making sure that they were treated with the dignity proper
to a human being.  He is the patron saint
of hospitals and nurses.
