This sterling silver Mater Dolorosa medallion is 1" X 3/4", has a stainless silver, heavy curb chain and is enclosed in an appealing box.  The Mater Dolorosa pendant shows Mary with seven swords piercing her heart.  This Mater Dolorosa medal can be engraved with a message on the back.  If you wish it to be engraved, please select from the drop-down box above.
Mater Dolorosa means Mother of Sorrows.  The sixth sorrow of Mary is when she received Jesus into her arms off the cross.  She held her son again, but now he was bleeding and dead, shamefully treated by the very people he had sacrificed Himself to save.  She is the patron of the sorrowful.
