This gold-filled St. Scholastica medal has a gold-filled, lite curb chain, is 3/4" X 1/2" and is enclosed in a beautiful box. The St. Scholastica medallion shows her with an abbess' staff. St. Scholastica was the sister of St. Benedict. She founded the Benedictine nuns. She and Benedict were very close friends, and would gather together each year to pray and discuss matters together. At the end of her life, at one of these meetings, Benedict rose to go but she begged him to stay since she knew their time together on earth was short. She prayed to God and he sent a storm so that Benedict could not return to his abbey. She is the patron saint of nuns and storms.
