               St. Camillus of Lellis formed
the bad habit of gambling to the point of destitution.  With the help of God he was able to overcome
this habit, but he still was unable to join the Capuchins because of an
incurable disease on his leg.  He then
formed a congregation to care for the incurably ill and those dying in
battle.  He is the patron saint of
hospitals and nurses.
