Blessed Margaret Castello, by Fr. W.R. Bonniwell,was born hunchback, midget, blind, lame, and ugly. Her parents walled her up in a chapel and after 14 years took her for a cure.Nothing happened, so her parents abandoned her. When she died at the age of 33, the towns people thronged to her funeral and demanded that the saint be buried in a tomb inside the church. The priest protested, but when a crippled girl was miraculously cured at the funeral, the people had their way.
