The compilation of the New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE), also known as the Saint Joseph Bible, was conducted by 100 scholars and theologians. A completely new translation of the Old Testament was made and the 1986 edition of the New Testament became the new standard. The readings at Mass in the USA are currently taken from the NABRE.
