Lovasik is a missionary priest of the Society of the Divine Word, one of the largest foreign mission societies. He was ordained August 14, 1938. He spent forty years preaching missions and retreats. He founded the Sisters of the Divine Spirit (1955) and the Family Service Corps (1967), a community of women dedicated especially to social work. He is the author of more than 30 books and 100 pamphlets.
