Marthe Robin, The Cross and the Joy By Rev.Raymond Peyret

In The Cross and the Joy, Rev. Raymond Peyret explains that this is one of the most dramatic stories of anyone loving in our times that we have ever read.

It is a moving account of a humble and little known French woman who died in 1981 after a life of incredible suffering as a victim soul for the sins of modern day man.

Marthe Robin spent over 50 years in bed in an increasingly painful and unchangeable position, without eating, without drinking, without sleeping, blind, suffering from the pains of the Stigmata (the five major wounds of Christ), and the physical attacks of the Devil. She existed only on Holy Communion, read hearts, and suffered the agony of Christ's Passion every Friday. Her physical suffering, however, did not prevent her from living a life of heroic virtue, one of service to the missions, prisoners, retreatants, and the poor throughout the world.

Her lifelong fast, constant prayers and meditations led to startling visions. Her funeral Mass in 1981 drew immense crowds and was concelebrated by 4 bishops and over 200 priests in her village of Drome, France.

This is truly a phenomenal life story of a hidden soul!
