Fr. Stan Fortuna: Adoration, CD
When people hear "adoration" the obvious questions arise: "Is it a Eucharistic CD?" "Is it about the Blessed Sacrament?" The answer to these questions and others like it is "Yes ... Of course." yet, what does that mean? The magnitude of the awesomeness of the Eucharistic Mystery gets ignored by some and isolated by others; ignored by people who don?t believe and isolated from the culture by people who live and construct a private world in harmony with their religious convictions. Not a good thing. Both of these experiences - the ignoring of the Mystery by some and the isolation of the Mystery by others - are being addressed with the message of the CD.
Musically the CD embraces and expresses a multicultural approach. The wide variety of musical styles on this well recorded 13 track CD range from classical with four tracks featuring a 36 piece string orchestra, three contemporary contemplative guitar and vocal arrangements, one reggae, two Brazilian, one rock and one rap entitled "School of the Eucharist" which was inspired by the writings of Pope John Paul II , Fr. Fortuna's hero. This multicultural approach is due largely to Fr. Fortuna's adherence to the teachings of Pope John Paul II on culture. The theology and spirituality of this content orientated recording is timely in light of the Holy Fathers new Encyclical on the Eucharist.
